Sure-Board® Floor & Roof Sheathing
Sure-Board Series 200SG is a non-combustible floor sheathing panel designed to improve quality and increase efficiency during the installation of residential or mid-rise load bearing projects.
Series 200SG composite underlayment floor sheathing panels utilize a structural 3/4” substrate laminated to 33 mil steel sheet.
Sure-Board Floor sheathing offers high load values and is tested in multiple configurations for sound transmission.
When you incorporate Sure-Board Floor, the finished product prevents the need to work over an uneven corrugated deck or have to bear the delay of pouring and finishing each level, as you would while using a deep pan deck system.
Sure-Board® is available in the following standard configurations:
- 4’x8’, 4’x9’ and 4’x10’ standard lengths
- 1/2”, 5/8” and 3/4” Gypsum board thickness
- Sure-Board® is also available cut to specific custom lengths

SHEAR APPLICATIONS
Sure-Board® is a steel sheet and gypsum board composite product that is installed on cold-formed steel framed shear walls.
Nationally approved for earthquakes and hurricane force winds, Sure-Board® is a value tested, innovative solution for controlling imposed loads.
Note: Pneumatic pin attachment of Sure-Board® has been tested.
SOUND ASSEMBLIES
Sure-Board Floor (200SG) improves sound/impact results on typical cold formed steel framed assemblies.
Tests performed in a NVLAP accredited laboratory in accordance with ASTM E90-04 confirms that Sure-Board®, integrated into a number of wall assemblies, shows a reduction in sound transmission.
FIRE APPLICATIONS
Sure-Board® exceeds the stringent requirements of ASTM E119 for 1 and 2 hour load bearing assemblies for both interior and exterior cold formed steel framing.
- UL listed fire rating using single layer of 5/8” Type C and RC Channel (1 hr assembly)

MOLD APPLICATIONS
Sure-Board®, when laminated to the many readily available weather resistant panel products, provides a durable and stable mold resistant panel.
IMPACT/BLAST APPLICATIONS
Sure-Board® has been tested by the Department of State in their simulated test program. We are developing an entirely new approach to the current blast wall assembly for use in commercial and enhanced security. Please contact us with any individual requirements.

Rigorous Testing Demonstrates Superior Seismic Performance of Sure-Board Sheathing
The First 6 Story CFS Shake Table Test
A collaborative industry effort, involving partners alongside the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the California Seismic Safety Commission, investigated the seismic resilience of Sure-Board, an innovative wall sheathing solution.
This project is a landmark achievement, utilizing current code-required lateral and diaphragm methods in the first-ever shake table test at this scale. The testing program incorporated a series of 13 pretests of increase magnitude, culminating in a Maximum Considered Event (MCE), or 150% of the 1994 Northridge seismic event (6.7 magnitude).
Impressively, Sure-Board sheathing exhibited exceptional resilience, sustaining no structural damage. This achievement underscores Sure-Board’s potential to safeguard occupants in critical structures during seismic events.
Sure-Board stands out as a compelling solution for enhancing earthquake resilience in building construction.
