Sure-Board® Shear
A steel sheet and gypsum composite shear wall panel that is installed on cold-formed steel framing.
Sure-Board Shear can replace traditional methods for shear walls, eliminate cross bracing, brace frames, or plywood.
The patented Series 200 panels are manufactured with a single 22-gauge galvanized sheet of steel laminated to any manufactured version of gypsum panel. A water-based EVA adhesive is used to create an incredibly strong shear panel that is 1 hr and 2 hr fire rated.
Nationally approved for earthquakes and hurricane-force winds, Sure-Board is a value-tested, innovative solution for controlling imposed loads.
Sure-Board has both shear values and sound ratings, providing a complete design solution.
Note: Pneumatic pin attachment of Sure-Board has been tested.

Sure-Board is available in the following standard configurations:

SOUND ASSEMBLIES
Tests performed in a NVLAP accredited laboratory in accordance with ASTM E90-04 confirms that Sure-Board, integrated into a number of wall assemblies, shows a reduction in sound transmission (see assembly performance charts). If you require additional specific assembly testing, we can assist you to provide approved, independent laboratory testing services.
FIRE APPLICATIONS
Sure-Board exceeds the stringent requirements of ASTM E119 for 1 hr and 2 hr load bearing assemblies for both interior and exterior cold formed steel framing.
MOLD APPLICATIONS
Sure-Board, when laminated to the many readily available weather resistant panel products, provides a durable and stable mold resistant panel.
IMPACT/BLAST APPLICATIONS
Sure-Board has been tested by the Department of State in their simulated test program. We are developing an entirely new approach to the current blast wall assembly for use in commercial and enhanced security. Please contact us with any individual requirements.
